Grunts do it Broadway

​​​900 Broadway St.SAN ANTONIO – The historic building at 900 Broadway St., which was recently renovated, will soon be home to Grunt Style LLC's corporate headquarters.

The move is part of the military and patriotic-themed clothing company's goal of eventually producing 100 percent of its products in the United States.

The company will move about 45 employees from its Chicago-based office staff to the 900 Broadway St. location, which it will be occupying entirely.

The building, which was redeveloped by Ridgemont Properties Inc., includes 38,715 sf of rentable space spanning a first floor, second floor, and basement.

Grunt Style was started in 2009 by Daniel Alarik, a former U.S. Army drill sergeant, who sold patriotic T-shirts at flea markets, sporting events, and other events. ​

Be there or be (Pecan) Square

​​​​​A rendering of the future community center at Pecan Square.NORTHLAKE – Dallas-based Hillwood Communities broke ground on a $1.5 billion residential community called Pecan Square this week.

The 1,157-acre project will bring more than 3,000 new homes and include commercial, retail, educational, and residential uses.

The first phase of the development will deliver over 630 homesites.

Plans also includes a new town hall, medical offices, restaurants, a salon, and a daycare.

A new community center will feature lounge area, business spaces, and a resident fitness center.

The grand opening of Pecan Square is scheduled for fall 2019.

First in 40 years, tower breaks ground downtown

​​Rendering of the WestStar Tower at Hunt Plaza.​EL PASO – Hunt Companies and WestStar Bank broke ground on the WestStar Tower at Hunt Plaza at 601 N. Mesa St. in downtown.

The 18-story office tower will be the tallest building in the city at 306 ft and the first of its kind built downtown in nearly 40 years. 

It is expected to open summer 2020.

Hunt Companies will move its headquarters to the tower, bringing about 175 employees. 

WestStar Bank plans to move out of its four downtown buildings and move about 260 employees to the tower.

The development will include a community event space, park-like gathering areas, and outdoor seating, as well as café, dining, and retail space on the ground floor.
